4 Games, 34 Runs, 21 LOB by Monroe, 2 Wins and a Big Sigh of Relief

I’ve already said it out loud to no one in particular so I might as well do the same here (and let me know if you’ve thought along the same lines this afternoon): Dang. We could’ve taken three out of four!

Ah, winning. It brings back everything from confidence to off-kilter perspective.

We have to be thrilled with how this series wrapped, don’t we? Whoda thunk on Friday night the Tigers would come back and thump the Tribe — even in throwback uni’s?

Just imagine how much better this Tigers team will be when the pitching gets back to, hell, even 85-percent healthy. The offense, as Cleveland no doubt discovered this weekend, can slug right along with them.

So the Tigers head to Arlington two-and-a-half back. Given where we all were emotionally on Friday night, that sure has a nice ring to it.

  1. I’m with you, Mike. I recovered from “OMG, they’ll never win another game, ever!” to “They’re going to be fine” in about 24 hours.

Imagine how I’ll be now that I’m not distracted by the Pistons. I’m picking up that Valium prescription tomorrow.

  2. Certainly feeling better, but not 100 percent.

Remember, I’m Dr. Wetblanket so I’ll remind everyone the bullpen has the worst ERA in the league and the starting pitchers tend to get behind early to hitters which prevents them from going deep into games. And how long can we anticipate the offense to produce the way it did this weekend?

On a happier note, I saved a bunch of money on my car insurance … and Jose Mesa is now an ex-Tiger. That should improve the bullpen’s ERA almost immediately!
