  • 1993Mike Moore hurls a one-hit, 3-0 shutout over the Royals. Wally Joyner’s second-inning single is the only Kansas City hit.

  • 1967 — Race riots in Detroit force postponement of a Tigers-Orioles game. The games
    scheduled for July 26 and 27 are shifted to Baltimore.

  • 1960 — The Tigers acquired catcher Hank Foiles from the Indians for catcher Bob Wilson and infielder Rocky Bridges.

  • 1904 — The Tigers acquired catcher Monte Beville from the Yankees for fellow catcher Frank McManus.
